Flora of PCT North of Scissors Crossing, San Felipe Valley
Introduction This checklist has been compiled from field surveys by the authors, and vouchers from the area of the PCT.
For more information about the surveys used for this flora, see Plant Trail Guide To Pacific Crest Trail North of Scissors Crossing.
The checklist also includes species vouchered within a mile or so of that trail, from a search of the Consortium of California Herbaria on 8 January 2012.
See Voucher Flora of San Felipe Valley for a much larger list of the species vouchered in any part of the San Felipe Valley.
This page used to have a List of Target Species, some of which we have subsequently found in this area. The old version of that List of Target Species is still online for reference.
Checklist The column titled ID? gives a symbol if the observed species determination is uncertain, usually because the determination was made from dead plants or from babies. A symbol of sp indicates the species is uncertain; a symbol of ~ indicates that we think the given species is the likely determination, but await confirmation from flowers.
The column titled TG# gives the plant order number along the trail given in the Plant Trail Guide.
The column titled #Pls gives our estimate of the minimum number of plants, up to a maximum of 99. Plants seen in the RT and Shaun Hawke Survey without abundance estimates have RT in that column if they were seen earlier on the trail, and RT' if they were seen later on the trail. If we haven't seen a species, but it is vouchered from this area, the column contains V.
